Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) CanadaMADD Canada works to stop impaired driving and to support victims of this violent crime. Meghann Wetmore, MADD Canada Atlantic Region Victim Service Manager, visits each drivers education class to educate on the effects of impaired driving. Meg delivers a statistics based info session describing the victim services aspect of impaired driving and her role at MADD Canada.
The most powerful teaching moment is the Too Close to Home video featuring four victims and their families. The real life stories of families lives left after crashes really demonstrates that their choices impacts more lives than their own. |
Student Comments
Packed with information, everything was repeated so it was much easier to memorize. The best part was the MADD presentation. |
I think drinking and driving is a huge threat to young people. What MADD is doing is incredibly important and a place like driver school is a perfect place to educate us about driving impaired. The presentation was informative and entertaining. |
Meg's presentation was very impactful. The use of video's, songs and real victim's families talking about how their lives changed by being affected by impaired driving. It was very emotional and moving. |
